I read the book "The Fitzroy" by Sally Fiber - which presented a biography of the area and the drinking culture just before WWII that was populated by authors, poets and artists centred around the pub. She detailed a pub crawl they completed, heading into Soho as they had an extra half an hour of drinking time.

Of course, I had to try and recreate it. All pubs are still there - although some have changed names over the years.
