Annual fancy dress pub crawl raising money for people battling cancer. The official crawl is usually held on the second to last Saturday of March.
'Miles for Maria' started last year (2025) in the hope of raising some extra cash for my fantastic mum - Maria, who at the time had been battling cancer for over 13 years, after being diagnosed with 4 different primary cancers over this period.
The purpose of the fundraiser was to try and better support my mum and my family through this process, whilst getting the community together to celebrate life and one another. Well... We DID IT! and raised a considerable amount of money. However, why mum never got to enjoy the money that we raised for her as she sadly lost her battle in April 2025, shortly after our fundraiser had concluded.
This year, we plan to keep her legacy ALIVE! With the hope of raising even more money for more people in my local community (Heanor) suffering from cancer.
The pub crawl starts at The Three Horseshoes, Ripley and ends at The King of Prussia, Heanor.
Fancy dress is essential - not optional.
