Starting in Bewdley, I wandered between eight welcoming pubs and bars, each rich in character and history. The 250-year-old Real Ale Tavern, once a bank, and the timber-framed Black Boy from the 1400s showcased centuries past, while The Great Western, The Old Waggon & Horses and Orilla reflected the town’s railway and trading heritage. Bewdley Brewery celebrated local brewing, with newer spots sitting comfortably beside long-standing favourites. In Kidderminster, seven pubs revealed different chapters of the town’s story, from the historic Ye Olde Seven Stars to canal-side Weavers, classic Chester Tavern and railway-linked King & Castle and welcoming Post House.
