I've made it this far (walking from Stourport). I might as well enjoy the pubs. The Kings Arms was closed on a Wednesday afternoon, despite information to the contrary. The cask in the 3 open pubs was first class. CAMRA need to pay a visit, as none are in the Good Beer Guide.

Today was spent travelling around Stourbridge and nearby Blackheath, Halesowen, Netherton, Tividale and Quarry Bank with Neil and local CAMRA friends, calling into a brilliant mix of pubs, micropubs and taprooms. From centuries-old coaching inns to former banks and shop units given new life, every stop had its own quiet story. I worked my way through crisp golden ales, smooth milds, hazy pales and even a dandelion and burdock brew. More than anything, it was the welcome that stood out — warm rooms, friendly faces and easy conversation, just proper pubs offering a comfortable place to slow down and enjoy good company. https://micropubadventures.co.uk/2026/02/21/21-02-26-stourbridge/ https://micropubadventures.co.uk/2026/02/21/21-02-26-blackheath-halesowen-netherton-tividale-and-netherton/

Starting in Bewdley, I wandered between eight welcoming pubs and bars, each rich in character and history. The 250-year-old Real Ale Tavern, once a bank, and the timber-framed Black Boy from the 1400s showcased centuries past, while The Great Western, The Old Waggon & Horses and Orilla reflected the town’s railway and trading heritage. Bewdley Brewery celebrated local brewing, with newer spots sitting comfortably beside long-standing favourites. In Kidderminster, seven pubs revealed different chapters of the town’s story, from the historic Ye Olde Seven Stars to canal-side Weavers, classic Chester Tavern and railway-linked King & Castle and welcoming Post House.

Legendary pub crawl, that takes in the home of Bathams. Reason enough to visit. Mentioned in Angela Marsons Silent Scream - book 1 in a series of crime procedurals set in the Black Country. See - https://blackcountryslang.co.uk/the-delph-run/
Close enough for a change of scene.
